WEST ROCKVILLE MARYLAND WEATHER UPDATE – WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 1, 2021
Wednesday was a heck of a start to the month of September! We started in the overnight around 0300-0400 with a strong thunderstorm that gave us most of today’s rain from the remnants of Ida. The day was cloudy, cooler with intermittent rain showers of varying intensities till the evening when slow improvement was noted with the rain ending. We reached the upper mid 70s for highs with dew points high, ranging up to the mid 70s midday but dropping into the 60s by late afternoon along with the
temperatures experiencing a similar drop. We peaked with our cooler max temperature (77.2) of the day in the early afternoon. The low temperature for the day (in the
mid 60s) was reached through much of the mid-late evening hours.
The peak wind gust for the day (26 MPH) was only moderately strong, peaking in the mid afternoon during one of the stronger rain squalls, veering over to a southerly
direction, the basic direction the storm was moving in. Barometric pressures were highest in the very early morning while the lowest was reached in the early evening.
Thursday and Friday should improve on conditions greatly with sunny skies and highs in the mid 70s and lows in the mid 50s and dry. Saturday and Sunday should be
partly to mostly sunny and continued dry, with high temps around 80 and lows in the mid 60s.
