WEST ROCKVILLE MARYLAND WEATHER UPDATE – TUESDAY AUGUST 31, 2021
Tuesday was mostly cloudy, cooler with no rain but still humid despite the remnants of hurricane Ida moving NE towards our area from the Southern Gulf states. We reached the low 80s for highs with dew points a bit lower than yesterday, ranging up to the lower mid 70s. We peaked with our cooler max temperature (81.4) of the day in the early afternoon. The low temperature for the day (in the low 70s) was reached in the early morning hours about an hour prior to sunrise.
The peak wind gust for the day (10 MPH) was surprisingly quite light, “peaking” in the mid morning, veering slightly over to a northwesterly direction. Barometric pressures were highest in the very early morning while the lowest was reached in the late afternoon.
Wednesday should be a bit cooler with highs in the upper 70s and lows in the upper 50s with cloudy skies and rain, possibly heavy at times with possible flooding (flash flood watches have been posted for our area). Thursday and Friday should improve on conditions greatly with sunny skies and highs in the mid 70s and lows in the mid 50s and dry. Saturday and Sunday should be partly to mostly sunny and continued dry, with high temps around 80 and lows in the low-mid 60s.
