WEST ROCKVILLE MARYLAND WEATHER UPDATE – FRIDAY AUGUST 20, 2021
Friday started out quite wet, cloudy with heavy morning showers that prompted flash flood warnings during most of the AM hours, then we turned drier but stayed relatively cool with dew points still mostly in the low 70s under partly cloudy PM skies. We peaked with our moderate max temperature (80.5) of the day in the early evening time period. The low temperature for the day (in the low 70s) was reached about an hour and a half after sunrise.
The peak winds (11 MPH) decreased to light levels, “peaking” in the early morning hours while veering over to a northeasterly direction. Barometric pressures were highest at midnight while the lowest were in the early evening hours.
Partly cloudy to cloudy Saturday through Monday with highs in the low-mid 80s and lows around 70 with low rain chances most of the time. Tropical system Henri will be passing off the mid-Atlantic Coast over the weekend, with little effects in the immediate area. Monday and Tuesday look partly cloudy, dry and warmer, with highs in the low 90s and lows in the low 70s.
