WEST ROCKVILLE MARYLAND WEATHER UPDATE – TUESDAY AUGUST 17, 2021

Tuesday maintained the latest cooling, damp trend we now have been under for a few days and will continue to for a good part of the week. We peaked with our modest max temperature (84.2) of the day in the later afternoon through a mostly cloudy day, along with rising dew points which accompanied our occasional rain showers ((0.07″). The low temperature for the day (around 70) was reached about a few hours before sunrise.

The peak winds (16 MPH) decreased to lighter levels, peaking in the very early morning hours (overnight really) while veering over to a southerly direction. Barometric pressures were highest during the late morning hours while the lowest were in the late afternoon.

Cloudy skies should predominate Wednesday with numerous shower/storm possibilities with highs in the mid 80s and lows around 70. We will be feeling the effects of the remnants of tropical system Fred at times. Flood watches have been posted for much of the time on Wednesday. Thursday looks partly cloudy and dry, with warmer temperatures up around 90 and lows around 70 but with low rain chances. Shower/storm chances increase again on Friday and Saturday with cooler max temps in the low-mid 80s and lows in the upper 60s under partly cloudy skies.
