WEST ROCKVILLE MARYLAND WEATHER UPDATE – WEDNESDAY AUGUST 11, 2021
Wednesday started out just like Monday and Tuesday – partly cloudy, hot and humid through mid-afternoon, with cumulus clouds building once again during the afternoon in the area and showers/storms breaking out by late afternoon, but today only light amounts of rain. The rest of the day remained mostly cloudy with just dribs and drabs coming down occasionally with temperatures cooling off after peaking in the mid afternoon with quite high dew points once again, reached in the late morning, well into the upper 70s. We warmed up to the low mid-90s by mid-afternoon. The daily minimum temperature in the low 70s was reached in the early morning hours just before sunrise.
The peak winds (27 MPH) were strong during the brief rainy/stormy periods in the later afternoon while veering a bit over to the hot, moist westerly direction. Barometric pressures were highest at midnight while the lowest were in the later afternoon during the light rain showers.
I had a computer problem with my weather station that I had to deal with much of today. Through the help of my great friend Marty and Davis Technical Support I got it up and running well by the early evening after rebooting my computer and router, and checking all the VP2 weather station display hookups and my computer settings. I did not lose any data !!! Will wonders ever cease?
Thursday should be partly sunny, hot and humid with highs in the upper 90s for possibly our hottest day of the year so far, with lows in the mid 70s but with small chances of showers and/or storms. Partly cloudy and still hot and humid on Friday with highs in the mid 90s and increasing chances of showers and storms as a front starts to approach from the west. Cooler upper 80s on Saturday with partly cloudy skies and further shower/storm chances with highs in the mid-upper 80s and lows in the mid-upper 60s. Sunday and Monday should cool down some more, with highs around 80 and lows in the low-mid 60s with partly cloudy and dry skies on Sunday but with
shower possibilities under cloudier skies returning on Monday.
