WEST ROCKVILLE MARYLAND WEATHER UPDATE – WEDNESDAY JULY 7, 2021

Wednesday continued our week-long heat up as max temps continued to roast us with mid 90s under partly sunny, mostly dry skies. High temps reached the mid 90s by mid-afternoon but with slight late afternoon cooling from clouds associated with very brief, light showers with some faint thunder at times. The daily min temp only lowered to the mid 70s reached in the early morning a bit after sunrise.

The winds lessened a bit into the light-moderate range peaking in the later mid-afternoon with the slight convective activity, veering slightly in the still hot, humid westerly direction. Barometric pressures were once again highest in the morning with the lowest in the early evening.

On Thursday tropical storm Elsa will be tracking just to our SE with its associated clouds, showers, and easterly component breezes affecting our area. Highs will be only reaching the mid 80s tops with lows in the mid 60s. Then on Friday with showers and storms continuing under mostly cloudy conditions, highs in the mid-upper 80s, lows in the mid 60s.
