WEST ROCKVILLE MARYLAND WEATHER UPDATE – THURSDAY JULY 1, 2021

Thursday was a day of change. Still warm and humid, but clouds developed rapidly by midday and storms ans showers dominated the weather most of the afternoon. High temps only reached the upper mid 80s by early afternoon, falling into the low 80s then 70s as the rain frequency increased and clouds thickened. Partly sunny skies early gave way to mostly cloudy, threatening looking clouds most of the afternoon with frequent rounds of thunder and lightning and occasional downpours. Minimum temps cooled off a bit by mid-late evening with the lowest readings falling to around 70.

The winds picked up with the threatening clouds, with the highest wind gusts recoreded in the initial burst in the early afternoon. Barometric pressures were highest in the very early morning and lowest with the clouds in the early evening.

Cloudy and cooler on Friday with possible morning showers, highs in the upper 70s to low 80s and lows in the lower 60s. Saturday and Sunday now look to be dry. with partly cloudy skies, highs in the upper 70s to low 80s, lows in the upper 50s Saturday to the low=mid 60s on Sunday. Heat, humidity and storm threats llok to return by early next week with highs into the 90s and lows in the low 70s.
