WEST ROCKVILLE MARYLAND WEATHER UPDATE – TUESDAY JUNE 8, 2021

Tuesday was almost an exact mirror image of Monday, as far as max/min temps were concerned. Once again the max temp only reached 90 as a rounded value (89.8). We had a partly sunny, still hot, equally humid day with a few lightning flashes and one faint rumble of thunder during the evening hours but without any measurable rain falling. The max temp was reached in the later afternoon as clouds moved in later towards evening putting a late cap on the rising temps. Minimum temps were exactly the same as Monday and were reached during the early morning hours once again with the high dew points in the 70s persisting. The winds slackened off today as
they veered over to the NW. Barometric pressures were once again rather muted, lowest in the early evening and highest in the mid morning hours, as has been the pattern since Saturday.

Wednesday looks cloudy and not as hot with highs in the mid-upper 80s with minimal shower/storm chances with lows around 70.

Thursday looks a bit cooler with highs in the low 80s and lows in the 60s under partly cloudy skies good chances of showers and storms. Friday will be cloudy and much cooler as highs struggle to get out of the 60s, lows in the upper 50s-low 60s with good chances of showers. Partly cloudy and dry over the weekend with highs warming up to the low 80s, lows in the low-mid 60s.

Today’s feature image was one taken recently out at my cocorahs rain gauge  looking west through damp cloudy skies around sunset . By the way cicadas are expected to persist in our area till the end of this month.
