My current downstairs station data is now showing regularly on Weather Underground. My data is posted there every 5 minutes. My ID is KMDROCKV200 and my station is called Gardens of Traville. Data is online, available in real-time as it is being updated on a 5 minute interval. The web address for my data on weather
underground is https://www.wunderground.com/dashboard/pws/KMDROCKV200 .
I contribute my precipitation data daily to CoCoRaHS as Rockville 2.8 WNW, Station ID MD-MG-115 and can be found on http://www.cocorahs.org .
Please remember that my Weather Underground precipitation data reflects what is recorded automatically through the tipping bucket VP2 gauge, just as it does on WxLink 2.0. The tipping bucket has been producing erratic values on most days (when I have had rain that is) so should not be used except for general precipitation timing.
I actually use the data I post to CoCoRaHS from my 4 inch CoCoRaHS gauge I read manually as my official precipitation total each day.
So much going on. Let’s begin early on New Years Day when I had a shot of bourbon and a few beers just before talking with my friend the Rocketman out in Colorado.. We are long time college friends who share many interests like weather, rock and roll, the mountains and snow, sports (particularly Badger teams), drinking good beer, etc. We talk on the phone a couple of times a year, our birthdays and early New Years Day for the most part. Great tradition, also keep in regular touch on email.
Watched a lots of Pro Playoff games and College Football bowl games on TV throughout the period, highlighted by getting together with locally located friends who I also went to school with out in Wisconsin, Martin and Robear, for some brews and pizza, etc and the first half of the Rose Bowl game between Wisconsin and Oregon. The Badgers unfortunately dropped the closely-contested game 28-27. Major bummer.
Tuesday was a great day with increasing morning clouds, initially mild, but with dropping temps most of the daylight hours as a nice little snowstorm moved in. It initially started as light rain during the noon hour, but within the hour changed to snow and continued till early evening. Temps dropped through the thirties and are in the upper 20s early this Wednesday morning. More details with final statistics and pictures will be forthcoming later in my full report for Tuesday.
Wednesday and Thursday look a bit cooler but partly cloudy and dry with highs in the 35-40 range and lows of 20-25. .
Friday will be much warmer under partly cloudy skies, with high temps in the mid 50s and lows in the mid 40s. Saturday and Sunday look to be even warmer but cloudy with showers, high temps into the 60s with lows in the 50s on Saturday and 40s on Sunday.
At Midnight Tuesday, clear skies and colder with a temperature of 29.9 degrees, relative humidity 94%, pressure steady at 29.96 inches with a dew point temperature of 28 degrees.
Currently at 0204 EST Wednesday the temperature is 28.5 degrees under clear skies, relative humidity at 94%, barometric pressure steady at 29.96 inches, and the dew point temperature at 27 degrees. Winds are averaging 4 MPH over the past 10 minutes from the SW. Peak wind gust since midnight has been 5 MPH from the S at 0049.
Good early morning from the walrus on this partly clear Thursday. Hope you all had a Happy New Years celebration, safe and sane as much as possible!!! Attached is another picture of some of my apartment friends at Nantucket Reef at our New Years Eve lunch Tuesday December 31, 2019.
