My current downstairs station data is now showing regularly on Weather Underground. My data is posted there every 5 minutes. My ID is KMDROCKV200 and my station is called Gardens of Traville. Data is online, available in real-time as it is being updated on a 5 minute interval. The web address for my data on weather underground is: https://www.wunderground.com/personal-weather-station/dashboard?ID=KMDROCKV200
I contribute my precipitation data daily to CoCoRaHS as Rockville 2.8 WNW, Station ID MD-MG-115 and can be found on the web at https://www.cocorahs.org Please remember that my Weather Underground precipitation data reflects what is recorded automatically through the tipping bucket VP2 gauge, just as it does on WxLink 2.0. The tipping bucket has been producing erratic values on most days (when I have had rain that is) so should not be used except for general precipitation
timing.
I actually use the data I post to CoCoRaHS from my 4 inch CoCoRaHS gauge I read manually as my official precipitation total each day.
Thanksgiving was busy for me, myself and I. I prepared a big turkey dinner for just me. I managed to make the cornbread dressing late Wednesday night, then prepared the turkey for roasting on Thursday afternoon. I also made the green bean casserole then along with pan giblet gravy. I had planned for warm pumpkin pie a la mode for dessert but the grocery order got mixed up and I had warm apple pie a la mode instead. The attached picture and image below show the spread of food I had. Unfortunately the gravy and/or stuffing was a bit too salty for my taste, detracting from the overall quality of the dinner. But plenty of leftovers for several dinners to come over the next several days. I watched plenty of football, particularly on Thursday with some surprisingly good, close games especially the Detroit-Chicago first game of the day. I chatted with my friends and family during the day at various times, but still an overall bummer all by myself all day. Friday night we plan to have a rummikub game so that will be one of my social hits of the long weekend.
The winds have now abated for a more peaceful start to “Black Friday” Sunny skies with highs in the mid-upper 40s and lows around freezing should be good for shopping, something I won’t be doing, unless I would do it online which is also quite doubtful.
Saturday looks cooler ( highs in the low 40s and lows in the mid 30s) with mostly cloudy skies.
Sunday will start December off on a wet note, with moderate rain at times with highs in the mid 40s and lows in the mid 30s.
Monday should continue this pattern with clouds and lighter rain falling, It will be a bit colder, with highs in the low 40s and lows in the low 30s. There is a chance for mixed types of precipitation at times (snow, freezing rain, sleet, rain) but stay tuned over the weekend for further updates on the developing situation.
Partly to mostly sunny skies should return on Tuesday and Wednesday, with highs in the mid to upper 40s and lows in the low 30s.
At Midnight Thursday, clear skies with a temperature of 40.4 degrees, relative humidity 70%, pressure steady at 30.30 inches with a dew point temperature of 31 degrees.
Currently at 0834 EST Friday the temperature is 38.8 degrees under mostly sunny skies, relative humidity at 71%, barometric pressure rising slightly at 30.31 inches, and the dew point temperature at 30 degrees. Winds are averaging 7 MPH over the past 10 minutes from the N. Peak wind gust since midnight has been 19 MPH from the NW at 0118. Today’s attached image and image below are from my Thanksgiving Day Dinner Table (sorry for the poor excuse for a formal dining room table) taken early Thursday evening. Roast Turkey, green bean casserole, cornbread dressing, and a beer is the featured image today, with apple pie a la mode shown below.
Good morning from the walrus on this calmer, sunnier “Black Friday”. Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
