Partly to mostly cloudy, seasonable, light shower Sunday evening (.02″) combination update from West Rockville, Maryland for Sunday, December 23 and Christmas Eve Monday, December 24 2018
I have been really busy with the last minute holiday activities, so I must combine the two days before Christmas Day into one post. Sunday was partly cloudy and seasonable, but cloudy in the evening with a light shower (.02″ – 2130-2200). Christmas Eve Monday was dry and a bit cooler but with lots of clouds, as temps held in the mid 30s to low 40s. .

0.02″ of rain fell on Saturday and nothing on Sunday. December 2018 now has a total of 5.68″ of precipitation (liquid water equivalent). The year-to-date precipitation is now 64.40″. Unfortunately snow was not in future forecasts through Christmas, so a White Christmas wasn’t meant to be this year.
My current online data (except for rainfall/snowfall – use cocorahs link shown below for that dataset) is showing regularly on Weather Underground. My data is posted there every 5 minutes. My ID is KMDROCKV200 and my station is called “Gardens of Traville.” Data is online, normally just about in real-time now as it is being updated on a 5 minute interval. The web address for my data on weather underground is:
https://www.wunderground.com/personal-weather-station/dashboard?ID=KMDROCKV200
I contribute my precipitation data daily to CoCoRaHS as Rockville 2.8 WNW, Station ID MD-MG-115 on https://www.cocorahs.org/
Please remember that Weather Underground precipitation data reflects what is recorded automatically through the tipping bucket VP2 gauge, just as it does on WxLink 2.0. The tipping bucket is producing erratic values so should not be used save for general precipitation timing. For example recently it recorded 5.62″ for the day, clearly a significantly higher amount when compared to my 4 inch gauge total that day (3.24″). I actually use the data I post to CoCoRaHS from my 4 inch CoCoRaHS gauge I read manually as my “official” precipitation total each day.
Christmas Day Tuesday looks to be partly to mostly cloudy with highs around 40° and lows in the mid 20s.
Wednesday should be sunny with highs in the mid 40s and lows in the upper 20s.
Thursday should be mostly sunny, with highs in the mid 40s and lows in the low 40s.

Saturday looks to be mostly sunny with highs in the mid 50s and lows in the mid 30s. Sunday looks to cool off again under cloudy, rainy skies with highs in the low 40s and lows around 30°. There might be a chance of some type of frozen precipitation Sunday night but stay tuned for updates.
Monday’s midnight observations included a temperature of 37.0°, relative humidity 58%, barometric pressure 30.28″ and rising, with a dew point of 23.6° under partly cloudy skies.
