A partly cloudy, dry, and warmer weather update for West Rockville Maryland for Wednesday August 30 2017
Wednesday changed back to the pattern that had ended on Monday as warmer temperatures, partly cloudy skies, and dry conditions returned. The high temperature for the day reached the mid 70s with dew points remaining about the same as yesterday. Now at 0437 we have fair, dry skies with temperatures in the mid 60s with dew points in the low 60s. The Wednesday minimum temperature from the VP2 in the shelter on the ground nearby (59.1°) was recorded at 0622 while the maximum temperature (75.2°) was recorded at 1653. Today’s minimum temperature of 59.1° is the coolest of the month, and coolest min temp reading since June 9th’s 57.8° reading. Dew point temps were about the same as yesterday, ranging from 64° down to 58°. Relative humidity values lowered a bit from yesterday (96% – 61%). Barometric values dropped a bit more today from yesterday, ranging from 30.05″ at 0919 down to 29.98″ at 1807.

I rose later today after a sleepful night filled once again with wild and crazy dreams. The back pain I have been having I believe is mostly caused by staying in bed too long. I had a late brunch of cereal, another mushy over-ripe banana and coffee. I continue to ramp up on the Badgers football team this week, watching some preview shows on the BTN, especially when they feature the Wisconsin Badgers in preparation to the Badger’s home opener at 9 PM Friday night against Utah State. I spoke with Ray briefly twice, once in the late morning and once in mid-afternoon. I caught Tracy’s usual late afternoon call, and updated her on a few items. I spoke with Robin twice also, once on regular phone and the other doing a face-time session featuring exciting bathtub action from my grandson Gideon. Finally Robin got the package I shipped to her last week, with the surprise Wisconsin goodies for both Gideon and Robin to wear during the game Friday night. I talked at some length with my brother-in-law Greg and my sister Deryl in the evening. I learned some cooking tips, and possible solutions to my foreman grill and toaster over not heating up at all.
Eventually I had my dinner mid-evening, as I prepared baked salmon in foil in the oven, along with leftover cheddar broccoli rice a roni and a small bag of cut green beans. I got some email out and incoming read, and checked out Facebook. I continue to follow tropical storm Harvey coverage on TWC and local TV Channel 4 and some network coverage on location in coastal Texas along with our local tropical action from yesterday (it never developed into a tropical storm) but a new Tropical Storm named Irma way out in the Atlantic closer to Africa may pay us a visit late next week. I had some prune juice early and spicy low-sodium V8 in the later evening. I had my usual water intake and vitamins and prescription medicines that I take every day.
We now have fair, dry skies with temperatures in the mid 60s at 0437 Thursday. We will warming up a bit more on Thursday under partly cloudy skies. We should be getting up to the lower 80s with lows in the mid 50s. Cooling back down into mid 60s on Friday and lows in the mid 50s under cloudy skies with a 20 POP for rain as the remnants of Harvey approach the area from the SW, as we head into the month of September. On Saturday continued cooling with temps staying in the mid 60s with clouds and an 80 POP for rain as the Harvey remnants move over our area. I don’t think the rain will be particularly heavy or cause any flooding, but must stay aware of further developments/enhancements. On Sunday sun should return at least partially, with high temps in the upper 70s and lows around 60°.
On Weatherbug radar at 0437 the radar is showing our upcoming rains centered over most of Louisiana with a curvy line of showers out ahead of it stretching from Western NC and far SW VA through TN and AR into LA, with more scattered action over parts of AL and MS at this time. The system is getting more diffuse as it weakens.
