A partly to mostly cloudy, cooler, wet in the early morning weather update for West Rockville Maryland for Friday August 25 2017

Friday featured partly to mostly cloudy skies, even cooler temperatures, with light rain to start the day in the very early AM from just after midnight to about 0230 (0.11″) . High temperatures only reached the mid 70s, with dew points in the lower 60s and upper 50s. Now at 0549 we have fair skies with temperatures in the low-mid 60s and dew points in the mid-upper 50s. The Friday minimum temperature from the VP2 in the shelter on the ground nearby (62.0°) was recorded at 0714 while the maximum temperature (76.4°) was recorded at 1610. Dew point temps rose a bit today due to the morning rain, ranging from 64° down to 58°. Relative humidity values rose a bit today for the same reason (95% – 55%). Barometric values rose significantly today, ranging from 30.00″ at 0000 up to 30.21″ at 2330.

I rose midday today to prepare for going to the post office to send a priority mail package to Tracy and Gideon (delivery expected on Monday) and then have a late lunch at La Mexicana thereafter with my driver friend Mike, and to exchange items with Tracy. Except I didn’t get what I was supposed to pick up from Tracy. I got her the items she was expecting plus a surprise that she wasn’t expecting. Just great to see her and get some great Mexican food and some cerveza. I had a mixed up day meal-wise, as I had a late evening “meal” of cereal, banana, and coffee. The big problem I had most of the day was with my cell phone. My USB cable that I use to charge my phone and transfer pics from my phone into my desktop computer with is not working well at all. Charging is performing poorly if not at all. I got online with Verizon and wound up ordering a lightning charge charger that I will get sometime next week. It finally dawned on me from when this happened before I kept the cable connected and turned the phone off. That seems to be the way I have use to charge my phone right now. I don’t care how, just as long as I can, so I have a line to the outside to keep in touch in the event of any problems or if others need to get a hold of me. I spoke briefly with Ray in the evening a few times but not for very long. I mostly followed the tremendous hurricane Harvey coverage on TWC and local TV on location in coastal Texas. I had some spicy low-sodium V8 in the later evening and much later snacked on a few cashews. I had my usual water intake and vitamins and medicines that I take every day.

We now have fair skies and temperatures in the low-mid 60s at 0539. A bit warmer temps over the weekend, with highs in the upper 70s with lows in the upper 50s to around 60°. It should be sunny to partly cloudy with lower dew points that should make things fairly comfortable. Monday and Tuesday look cooler with highs in the low-mid 70s and a 30 POP for showers on Monday and a 50 POP for rain on Tuesday under partly to mostly cloudy skies, with lows in the low 60s.

On Channel 4 radar at 0539 the radar is essentially clear throughout the 6 state mid-Atlantic region with just a light shower in southern VA at the NC border.
