Monday was partly cloudy, warmer with no rain but still humid. We reached the upper 80s for highs with dew points a bit higher than yesterday, ranging up to the mid 70s. We peaked with our warmer max temperature (88.1) of the day in the later mid-afternoon. The low temperature for the day (in the low 70s) was reached in the early morning hours about 1/2 hour prior to sunrise.
The peak wind gust for the day (27 MPH) picked up considerably from yesterday’s light reading, peaking in the late afternoon, veering slightly over to a westerly direction. Barometric pressures were highest at midnight while the lowest was reached in the early evening.
Tuesday should be cloudy and cooler with highs in the low 80s and lows in the mid 60s with late day showers and storms developing ahead of the remnants of tropical system Ida. Wednesday and Thursday should be cooler with highs in the mid 70s and lows in the low-mid 60s on Wednesday and mid 50s on Thursday with cloudy skies and rain, possibly heavy at times with possible flooding (flash flood watches have been posted for our area from Wednesday at 1100 till early Thursday) from Ida’s remnants streaming NE into our area from the Southern Gulf states What a wet way to start off the month of September in our area !!!! Friday should improve on conditions with partly cloudy skies and highs in the mid 70s and lows in the mid 50s and dry.
