WEST ROCKVILLE MARYLAND WEATHER UPDATE – SUNDAY AUGUST 29, 2021
Sunday was mostly cloudy, cooler with no rain but still humid. We only reached the lower 80s for highs with dew points not quite as high as yesterday, ranging up to the
mid 70s. We peaked with our cooler max temperature (81.1) of the day in the later mid-afternoon. The low temperature for the day (in the low 70s) was reached in the
early morning hours at sunrise.
The peak wind gust for the day (12 MPH) was even lighter than yesterday, “peaking” in the earlier stages of the mid-afternoon and veering back over to a southwesterly
direction. Barometric pressures were highest right around midnight while the lowest was reached about 24 hours later in the late evening hours.
Partly cloudy, dry skies should follow Monday, with highs around 90 with lows around 70. Tuesday should be cloudy and cooler with highs in the low 80s and lows in the
upper 60s but dry. Wednesday and Thursday should be cooler with highs in the mid 70s and lows in the low-mid 60s on Wednesday and mid 50s on Thursday with cloudy skies and rain, possibly heavy at times with flooding from the remnants of tropical system Ida streaming NE into our area from the Gulf of Mexico where she made landfall on Sunday as a very dangerous Category 4 hurricane. What a wet way to start off the month of September in our area!
