WEST ROCKVILLE MARYLAND WEATHER UPDATE – WEDNESDAY AUGUST 25, 2021
Wednesday was partly cloudy, hot and humid but with building cumulus in the later afternoon that developed into mid-evening thunderstorms (0.35″) between about 2000-2100. We reached the lower 90s for highs with dew points ranging from the upper 60s to mid 70s, similar to the past several days. We peaked with our hotter max temperature (90.7) of the day in the mid afternoon. The low temperature for the day (in the low 70s) was reached at the end of the evening thunderstorm activity around 2100.
The peak winds (36 MPH) were quite strong during the thunderstorm action, peaking in the mid-evening hours, veering over slightly to a westerly direction from yesterday. Barometric pressures were highest in the late morning hours while the lowest were in the early evening hours as the storms were building to the west.
Thursday looks mostly dry. hot and humid with highs in the mid 90s and lows in the low 70s. Friday through Monday looks to be slightly cooler with highs in the low 90s, but with greater chances for showers/storms on each day except for Sunday. Partly cloudy skies should be in evidence, with lows each day in the low 70s.
