WEST ROCKVILLE MARYLAND WEATHER UPDATE – MONDAY AUGUST 23, 2021

Monday was partly cloudy most of the day, but became cloudy in the evening hours with a moderate but fairly brief rain shower (0.27″) between 2200-2300 (approx), warmer than
Sunday with the stronger afternoon sun before the clouds came in, reaching the upper 80s for highs but with dew points once again mostly in the low-mid 70s. We peaked with our warmer max temperature (89.4) of the day in the mid afternoon. The low temperature for the day (in the low 70s) was reached just after sunrise.

The peak winds (25 MPH) picked up considerably into the moderately strong range from yesterday, peaking in the early afternoon hours, veering slightly over to a northwesterly direction. Barometric pressures were highest in the later evening hours while the lowest were in the early morning hours before sunrise.

Tuesday through Friday look partly to mostly sunny, dry and hotter, with highs in the low-mid 90s and lows in the low 70s. Saturday may see temps cool down a bit into the upper 80s, lows around 70 with some chances of showers/storms.

Currently at 0122 AM EDT Tuesday we have fair skies, a temperature of 75.1, barometer 29.93″ and rising, relative humidity 95%, dew point 74, winds WNW-SW at 0-10 MPH. No rain so far has fallen since midnight into the tipping bucket VP2 gauge at the USG site across the street from me.
