Wednesday turned into a tropical steam bath as the remnants of tropical storm Fred passed close by to the northwest up in Pennsylvania. Partly cloudy to cloudy skies,
filled with tropical downpours (0.75″) at times, with very high dew points all day. We peaked with our modest max temperature (84.9) of the day in the mid afternoon through a partly cloudy sky at the time, along with the steamy dew points. The low temperature for the day (in the mid 70s) was reached about a few hours before sunrise.

The peak winds (26 MPH) increased to stronger levels due to the tropical storm remnant activity, peaking in the later mid-afternoon hours while veering over to a moist southwesterly direction. Barometric pressures were highest during the very early morning hours while the lowest (and not as low as you might think) were in the early
evening hours.

Thursday looks partly cloudy and dry, with warmer temperatures up around 90 and lows around 70 but with low rain chances. Shower/storm chances increase again on Friday with cooler max temps in the upper 70s and lows in the mid 60s under partly to mostly cloudy skies. The weekend looks dry and seasonable, with highs in the mis-upper 80s and lows in the mid-upper 60s.

Currently at 0149 AM EDT Thursday we have fair skies, a temperature of 76.2, barometer 30.02″ and steady, relative humidity 85%, dew point 71, winds SW-W      at 0-10 MPH. No rain has fallen since midnight into the tipping bucket VP2 gauge at the USG site across the street from me.

The attached image for today shows a beautiful towering cumulus cloud mid afternoon Wednesday (8/18) associated with all our tropical activity most of the day out my apartment view, looking to the NE from Building B.
