WEST ROCKVILLE MARYLAND WEATHER UPDATE – THURSDAY AUGUST 12, 2021

Thursday started out just like the previous days of this week – partly cloudy, hot and humid. However it stayed that way all day, with no showers and storms developing
to keep us hot and dry. We peaked with our hottest max temperature (94.4) of the week and actually of the month so far in the mid-afternoon, along with the usual high
dew points, reached in the late morning, well into the upper 70s. The daily minimum temperature in the low 70s was reached in the early morning hours a bit after
sunrise.

The peak winds (17 MPH) lessened considerably while veering over to the hot, moist southerly direction. Barometric pressures were highest in the late morning while
the lowest were in the early evening hours.

Partly cloudy and still hot and humid on Friday with highs in the mid 90s and increasing chances of showers and storms as a front starts to approach from the west. Cooler mid-upper 80s on Saturday with partly cloudy skies and further shower/storm chances with lows in the mid 60s. Sunday and Monday should cool down some more, with highs in the low 80s and lows in the mid 60s with partly cloudy and dry skies on Sunday but with shower possibilities under cloudier skies returning on Monday. Tuesday follows suit with Monday’s forecasted clouds and shower/storm chances with highs around 80 and lows in the mid 60s.
