WEST ROCKVILLE MARYLAND WEATHER UPDATE – TUESDAY AUGUST 10, 2021
Tuesday started out just like Monday – partly cloudy, hot and humid through mid-afternoon, with cumulus clouds building once again during the afternoon in the area and showers and thunderstorms breaking out by late afternoon, at times quite heavy. The rest of the day was quite cloudy with the rain continuing longer into the evening than on Monday, and temperatures cooled off after peaking in the mid afternoon with quite high dew points once again, reached earlier today around noon, well up in the 70s. We warmed up to the low 90s by mid-afternoon. The daily minimum temperature in the low 70s was reached in the early morning hours just before sunrise.
The peak winds (39 MPH) were quite strong during the storms in the later afternoon while maintaining the warm, moist southwesterly direction as was the case yesterday. Barometric pressures were highest in the late morning while the lowest were in the early evening during the rain showers.
Tuesday through Friday should be partly sunny, hot and humid with highs in the mid-upper 90s and lows in the low 70s but now with small chances of showers and/or storms each day. A partly cloudy cool down with highs in the low-mid 80s and mid-upper 60s for lows is due for the weekend with rain chances increasing on Saturday accompanying the frontal passage.
