WEST ROCKVILLE MARYLAND WEATHER UPDATE – MONDAY AUGUST 9, 2021

Monday started out partly cloudy, hot and humid through mid-afternoon, but cumulus clouds built quickly in the area and showers broke out by late afternoon, at times
quite heavy. The rest of the day was quite cloudy with the rain, and temperatures cooled off after peaking in the mid afternoon with quite high dew points reached just
before the showers started, well up in the 70s. We warmed up to around the 90 mark by mid-afternoon. The daily minimum temperature in the low 70s was reached in the
early morning hours a few hours before sunrise.

The peak winds (26 MPH) became fairly strong just ahead of the onset of the rain, “highest” in the mid afternoon while veering to the warm, moist southwesterly
direction. Barometric pressures were highest in the mid morning while the lowest were in the later afternoon hours during the rain showers. So much for the Monday
prediction of little chances of rain!!! Flash flood warnings were posted from the late afternoon into the mid-evening hours.

Tuesday through Friday should be partly sunny, hot and humid with highs in the mid 90s and lows in the low 70s with chances of showers and/or storms each day except
for Thursday.
