WEST ROCKVILLE MARYLAND WEATHER UPDATE – FRIDAY JULY 30, 2021

Friday was actually warmer than Thursday but gradually less humid with dew points dropping from the lower 70s very early down to the upper 50s by late in the evening. We warmed up to the upper 80s by mid-afternoon under sunnier skies. The day was generally partly cloudy. The daily minimum temperature in the low 70s was reached in the early morning just after sunrise.

The peak winds (26 MPH) were moderately strong in the early to mid afternoon, veering slightly to a northwesterly direction as the drier air gradually moved in. Barometric pressures were highest in the late evening while the lowest was in the overnight/early morning hours.

Saturday should be partly cloudy and not as warm with highs in the low 80s and lows in the mid 60s. Sunday be partly to mostly cloudy with chances of showers, most likely in the afternoon, with highs around 80 and lows in the low 60s. Monday and Tuesday should be partly cloudy and pleasant with highs in the low 80s and lows in the low 60s. Showers may return on Wednesday under partly to mostly cloudy skies with highs in the low 80s and lows in the mid 60s.

Currently at 0111 AM EDT Saturday we have clear skies with a temperature of 72.5, barometer 29.99″ and rising, relative humidity 60%, dew point 58, winds E-NE at 0-10 MPH. No rain has fallen since midnight into the tipping bucket VP2 gauge at the USG site across the street from me.

The attached image for today shows storm clouds building around 1600 on Thursday with rain sprinkling down a little bit outside of the entrance to my apartment building.
