WEST ROCKVILLE MARYLAND WEATHER UPDATE – THURSDAY JULY 8, 2021
Tropical Storm Elsa paid us a glancing blow here today. Clouds, occasional light rain, moderate breezes at times were in evidence during parts of the afternoon into the evening. Max temps reached the mid 80s early with AM partial sun, but clouds from Elsa put a lid on the temperature rising any further, holding in the 70s during much of the PM hours. High temps reached the mid 80s midday with the daily min temp around 70 reached in the later stages of the evening.
The winds logically increased into a peak mid-afternoon moderately strong range, still in the westerly direction, but later more in an easterly direction around Elsa’s
circulation. Barometric pressures were not as low as you might expect, peaking in the mid afternoon, lowest in the late evening.
Friday we will have showers and storms continuing under partly cloudy skies, highs reaching the upper 80s, lows in the mid 60s. Saturday should be mostly cloudy but
dry, with highs in the mid 80s and lows in the upper 60s. Sunday and Monday should be partly cloudy, very warm and humid with highs in the upper 80s to around 90 with
chances of showers and storms, lows in the lower 70s.
