WEST ROCKVILLE MARYLAND WEATHER UPDATE – TUESDAY JUNE 29, 2021

Tuesday was hot and humid once again, with highs reaching the lower mid-90s by later mid-afternoon. Partly to mostly sunny skies predominated all day, with some cumulus buildups that dotted the sky occasionally in the afternoon. Minimum temps held from yesterday with the lowest readings in the mid 70s, occurring in the early morning hours just after sunrise.

The winds stayed in the moderate range, veering back around to the W, peaking in the later afternoon. Barometric pressures were highest in the morning and lowest in the early evening.

Partly cloudy skies Wednesday but hot and dry with highs in the mid-upper 90s with lows in the low-mid 70s. We definitely have a heat wave to close out the month of June! Heat looks to start breaking on Thursday with mostly cloudy skies, showers and storms likely at times, highs in the mid 80s, lows in the upper 60s with more showers and clouds and further cooling Friday with highs in the upper 70s and lows in the lower 60s. Saturday and Sunday now look to be dry. with partly cloudy skies, highs around 80, lows in the low-mid 60s.

Currently at 0239 AM EDT Wednesday we have clear skies with a temperature of 77.2, barometer 30.13″ and falling, relative humidity 77%, dew point 70, winds S-SW at 5-10 MPH. No rain has fallen since midnight into the tipping bucket VP2 gauge at the USG site across the street from me.

Today’s feature image showed a bit of last Monday night’s post sunset westerly view past the rain gauge through some of the leftover clouds from the earlier evening thunderstorm.
