WEST ROCKVILLE MARYLAND WEATHER UPDATE – SATURDAY JUNE 26, 2021
Saturday was warmer and more humid, with highs reaching the mid 80s reached by mid-afternoon. Partly sunny skies predominated all day, with some buildups that yielded some light afternoon shower activity (0.02″). Minimum temps rose considerably with the lowest readings only in the lower 70s, occurring in the early morning hours just prior to sunrise.
The winds picked up into the moderate range, blowing in from the W, peaking in the early afternoon. Barometric pressures were highest in the morning and lowest by mid-evening.
Partly cloudy skies on Sunday through midweek but dry with highs in the low-mid 90s during the period with lows mostly in the low 70s. Definitely a heat wave to close out the month of June heading into what is normally our hottest month of the year, July. Heat looks to start breaking on Thursday with showers and storms likely but stay tuned for updates on that possibly dynamic situation. .

Today’s feature image showed a bit of Monday night’s post-sunset westerly view past the rain gauge through some of the leftover clouds from the earlier evening thunderstorm.
