WEST ROCKVILLE MARYLAND WEATHER UPDATE – TUESDAY JUNE 22, 2021
Tuesday was much cooler with highs in the low 70s at midnight but only a PM high of 67.6 at 1940. Mostly cloudy skies was the norm during most of the day with some
clearing by evening. Mostly light morning/midday showers fell (0.26″). Light fog also was observed at times in the AM.
Minimum temps were also much cooler today with the lowest temp of the day actually occurring at midnight. Dew points lowered all day, from the highest reading of 70
at midnight down to the low 50s by mid-evening.
The winds returned to moderate levels with the lack of storms around, coming back to the more usual NW direction in the AM but more NE during the rainy periods at
other times during the day. Barometric pressures were lowest at the beginning of the day and highest by late evening just prior to midnight.
Really nice days on Wednesday and Thursday with highs of 70 on Wednesday and upper 70s on Thursday and lows in the low-mid 50s under mostly sunny skies. Friday should start a warm up with partly cloudy skies and highs in the low-mid 80s, lows in the low-mid 60s, then partly to mostly cloudy skies on Saturday through Monday but dry with highs in the upper 80s and lows in the lower 70s.

Currently at 0440 AM EDT Wednesday we have clear skies with a temperature of 53.2, barometer 30.13″ and rising, relative humidity 86%, dew point 49, winds N-NE at 0-5 MPH. No rain has fallen since midnight into the tipping bucket VP2 gauge at the USG site across the street from me.
Today’s feature image showed a bit of Monday night’s post sunset moon through the leftover clouds from the earlier evening thunderstorm.
