Today’s feature image is one taken in the late afternoon this past Monday of part of the weather station on Bearden Knob at around 4000 feet. The larger of the 2 towers covers communication and a great online webcam looking over the beautiful Canaan Valley some 800 feet below and the next range of mountains on which are three downhill and one cross country ski areas. Not visible in the picture are these ski areas which still had some artificially produced snow patches still around from the recently concluded ski season. The smaller tower contains the weather recording equipment featuring temperature and wind collection among other parameters.
