SEPTEMBER 12-22, 2020 – MAJOR COOLDOWN INTO THE MID-MONTH PERIOD WITH VERY LITTLE RAIN UPDATE FOR WEST ROCKVILLE MARYLAND

The rain also left us as the 0.08″ that fell from the weak TS Sally remains was the only measurable rain that fell during the period. Dew points fell significantly through the period from mid-upper 60s at the beginning of the period down to the 30s at the end of the period.
There were no thunderstorm days with 5 Sunny/ Clear days, 4 Partly Cloudy and 2 Cloudy days.

During this latest 11 day period the highest temperature reached was only 78.1 degrees on the 13th. 6 days had max temps in the 70s, with the remaining 5 days in the 60s. Only 2 of the 11 days in the period received measurable rain, all from the weak remains of tropical storm Sally (0.08″ total from 9/17-18). The total for this eleven day period was 0.08 inches so our month-to-date total is now 2.72″ and the year-to date total is 40.50″.
The current temperature is 51.0 degrees at 0404 on September 23 under clear skies. The max temperatures looks to be rebounding into the 70s to bear 80 with rain possible on Friday from a visit by the remains of tropical storm Beta. The tropics are staying quite active right now as we start to name storms from the Greek alphabet.
