Partly sunny, pleasantly cool, still dry update for Thursday, September 19, 2019 from West Rockville Maryland

Partly sunny, pleasantly cool, still dry for Thursday. High temps were in the mid 70s in the late afternoon, after early morning temps in the mid 50s, surpassed by midnight temps slightly lower. Dew point temperatures were at their highest (mid 50s) in the very early morning, then fell gradually through the day to the mid 30s by the early evening.

The maximum temperature was 73.6 degrees at 1607.

The minimum temperature was 54.5 degrees at 2359. (AM Min 55.3 degrees at 0654)

We are starting to get quite dry around here with little prospects for rain for the next several days.

My current online data is showing regularly on Weather Underground. My data is posted there every 5 minutes. My ID is KMDROCKV200 and my station is called Gardens of Traville. Data is online, available in real-time as it is being updated on a 5 minute interval. The web address for my data on weather underground is:
https://www.wunderground.com/personal-weather-station/dashboard?ID=KMDROCKV200

I contribute my precipitation data daily to CoCoRaHS as Rockville 2.8 WNW, Station ID MD-MG-115 and can be found on the web at https://www.cocorahs.org

Please remember that my Weather Underground precipitation data reflects what is recorded automatically through the tipping bucket VP2 gauge, just as it does on WxLink 2.0. The tipping bucket has been producing erratic values on most days (when I have had rain that is) so should not be used except for general precipitation timing.

I actually use the data I post to CoCoRaHS from my 4 inch CoCoRaHS gauge I read manually as my official precipitation total each day.

Thursday was another day of rest till shower time in the late afternoon after chatting with Marty from bed for a while. I had another sausage, egg and cheese biscuit warmed up in the microwave for my breakfast before crashing. Later after the shower I prepared to go to trivia. On my way I snapped a shot at the western sky like I usually do on my way to trivia at 1900 (see today’s featured image).  We had another good turnout (13 total) and a fun time with great questions from Bonnie.  I returned to my apartment and watched much of the Jacksonville 20  Tennessee 7 TNF game from rainy Jacksonville. I made a turkey pastrami and cheddar cheese sandwich on some more of my new delicious rye bread, along with the rest of the macaroni and potato salads, and my usual spicy low-sodium V8 to wash it all down.

I watched the Weather Channel and local weather shows to get a detailed report on the continued triple threat tropical activity. The remnants of tropical system Imelda continued to flood parts of eastern Texas and western Louisiana with copious amounts of rain.  Hurricane Humberto was tracking into the North Atlantic heading NE and out of harm’s way except for fishes and any sort of marine traffic that might get in the way. Now hurricane Jerry continued to head NW north of the northern Caribbean Islands and eventually curve out to sea. But that storm is still being watched as that curve has not occurred yet.

Friday started out with the chilliest morning so far this season around 50 degrees under clear/sunny skies. A shift to a more southerly flow will start to warm us up however, possibly reaching as high as 80 degrees later on this afternoon.

Saturday and Sunday should warm up some more with continued sunny skies and overnight temps in the low-mid 60s. High temps will reach well into the 80s to near 90.

Monday should be partly cloudy with a slight chance of a shower, highs near 90 with lows in the mid-upper 60s.

Tuesday and Wednesday should be partly to mostly sunny with a return to more seasonable high temps around 80 and lows in the upper 50s-low 60s.

On Midnight Thursday the temperature was 54.5 degrees, relative humidity 67%, pressure falling at 30.30 inches with the dew point temperature at 47 degrees under clear skies.

Currently at 0758 Thursday morning the temperature is 51.4 degrees under clear skies, relative humidity at 92%, barometric pressure rising at 30.34 inches, and the dew point temperature at 49 degrees. The morning min of 50.2 degrees was recorded at 0632 about an hour and half ago.

Good morning from the walrus on this very pleasantly cool, clear Friday.
