Partly cloudy, warmer, a bit more humid but still dry update for Tuesday, September 10, 2019 from West Rockville Maryland

Tuesday turned partly cloudy with quite a bit of sun, warming things up into the mid 80s after a fairly pleasant early AM in the mid 60s. Dew point temps remained mostly in the 60s all day, highest mid-morning and lowest in mid-day.

The maximum temperature was 86.6 degrees at 1447.

The minimum temperature was 65.9 degrees at 0347.

The dew point temperatures ranged from a high of 69 degrees @ 0914 down to a low of 59 degrees @ 1207.

The relative humidity values ranged from a high of 91% @ 0412 down to a low of 43% @ 1250.

The barometric pressure ranged from a high of 30.34 inches @ 0852 down to a low of 30.24 inches @ 2042.

There was no precipitation on Tuesday so the monthly total remains at 0.39 inches. The year-to-date total is 38.05 inches.

My current online data (except for rainfall/snowfall so please use the cocorahs link shown below) is showing regularly on Weather Underground. My data is posted there every 5 minutes. My ID is KMDROCKV200 and my station is called Gardens of Traville. Data is online, available in real-time as it is being updated on a 5 minute interval. The web address for my data on weather underground is: https://www.wunderground.com/personal-weather-station/dashboard?ID=KMDROCKV200

I contribute my precipitation data daily to CoCoRaHS as Rockville 2.8 WNW, Station ID MD-MG-115 and can be found on the web at https://www.cocorahs.org

Please remember that my Weather Underground precipitation data reflects what is recorded automatically through the tipping bucket VP2 gauge, just as it does on WxLink 2.0. The tipping bucket has been producing erratic values on most days (when I have had rain that is) so should not be used except for general precipitation timing.

I actually use the data I post to CoCoRaHS from my 4 inch CoCoRaHS gauge I read manually as my official precipitation total each day.

Strangely enough starting about 1200 EDT on Tuesday, my weather station started to record wind direction and speed data and have kept that up to the present time. You should see it on my wxlink and weather underground station data.     I can only theorize that a station nearby has wind data and for some reason my datalogger is picking up the wind data signal. Stay tuned for further possible explanations. I did not add an anemometer to my station, that is for sure.

I had my usual late breakfast after sleeping in a bit of shredded wheat, banana, milk and iced coffee just before my 1730 grocery delivery arrival from Schwan’s which was put away by 1800. I really had to engineer the space in the freezer to get it all in there and be able to close the door. Other than have a fudge pop and some caramel cashew ice cream for later dessert I did not take advantage of any of my new supplies. I finished up the leftover hoisin chicken from the other day along with the remaining broccoli cheddar rice a roni with mushrooms for dinner. Later I worked on inputting my August daily weather observations into the master spreadsheet in preparation for several final reports that will be prepared later on in the week after the spreadsheet is completed and the statistics calculated. I caught a bit of wrestling and baseball in between computer sessions with some email processing.

Wednesday and Thursday should be partly cloudy and heating up with highs in the low 90s and lows in the upper 60s to around 70. As the cold front draws near, chances will increase for showers and thundershowers on Thursday.

Friday looks to cool back down into the low 70s for highs and mid 60s for lows with mostly cloudy skies and good chances for showers at times.

Saturday and Sunday look to warm up with more sun than clouds, highs in the mid 80s and lows in the mid 60s.

Monday should be partly to mostly sunny and a bit warmer, with highs in the upper 80s and lows in the upper 60s.

On Midnight Tuesday the temperature was 71.2 degrees, relative humidity 79%, pressure rising at 30.27 inches with the dew point temperature at 64 degrees under partly cloudy skies.

Currently at 0555 Wednesday morning the temperature is 68.8 degrees under partly cloudy skies, relative humidity at 91%, barometric pressure falling at 30.23 inches, and the dew point temperature at 66 degrees.

Good early morning from the walrus on this partly cloudy Wednesday.
