Mostly cloudy but with some afternoon sun, a bit warmer, still dry update for Monday, September 9, 2019 from West Rockville Maryland
Monday turned mostly cloudy, particularly in the AM hours, with some spotty drizzle/light showers around but none recorded at my location, cool in the early hours of the day but warming to just above 80 by mid-afternoon as some sun came through. Early AM mins were in the milder mid 60s to start the day. Dew point temps remained in the 60s all day, highest mid-day and lowest in the late evening.
The maximum temperature was 80.6 degrees at 1625.
The minimum temperature was 67.3 degrees at 0231.
The dew point temperatures ranged from a high of 66 degrees @ 1109 down to a low of 61 degrees @ 2250.
The relative humidity values ranged from a high of 87% @ 0522 down to a low of 55% @ 1533.
The barometric pressure ranged from a low of 30.12 inches @ 0005 up to a high of 30.25 inches @ 2221.
There was no precipitation on Monday so the monthly total remains at 0.39 inches. The year-to-date total is 38.05 inches.
My current online data (except for rainfall/snowfall so please use the cocorahs link shown below) is showing regularly on Weather Underground. My data is posted there every 5 minutes. My ID is KMDROCKV200 and my station is called Gardens of Traville. Data is online, available in real-time as it is being updated on a 5 minute interval. The web address for my data on weather underground is: https://www.wunderground.com/personal-weather-station/dashboard?ID=KMDROCKV200
I contribute my precipitation data daily to CoCoRaHS as Rockville 2.8 WNW, Station ID MD-MG-115 and can be found on the web at https://www.cocorahs.org
Please remember that my Weather Underground precipitation data reflects what is recorded automatically through the tipping bucket VP2 gauge, just as it does on WxLink 2.0. The tipping bucket has been producing erratic values on most days (when I have had rain that is) so should not be used except for general precipitation timing.
I actually use the data I post to CoCoRaHS from my 4 inch CoCoRaHS gauge I read manually as my official precipitation total each day.
I listened to some of the weekly internet weather talk show from Buffalo mid-day and then had my weekly one hour chat with my sister out in Michigan to get us all caught up on our week’s activities and plans. I managed to finally whip up those left over potatoes into a cheesy buttery mashed potato conglomeration, along with the two leftover bratwurst with pickles and mustard. I watched parts of the season opening doubleheader of Monday Night Football, one exciting game won in the last second by New Orleans 30-28 over the Houston Texans, and a more ho-hum Oakland victory over the Denver Broncos in the nightcap. I also spoke at length with Marty and Ray at various times during the afternoon and evening. I also placed a food order with Schwan’s for early Tuesday evening delivery.
Tuesday should be partly sunny and warmer, with highs in the mid 80s and lows in the mid 60s.
Wednesday and Thursday should be partly cloudy and heating up with highs in the low 90s and lows in the upper 60s to lower 70s.
Friday looks to cool back down into the mid 70s for highs and mid 60s for lows with mostly cloudy skies and good chances for showers at times.
Saturday looks to warm up with more sun than clouds and chances of showers and thunderstorms, highs in the mid 80s and lows in the mid 60s.
Sunday should be similar in sky cover and temps, but without much chance of rain.
On Midnight Monday the temperature was 69.4 degrees, relative humidity 77%, pressure steady at 30.25 inches with the dew point temperature at 62 degrees under partly cloudy skies.
Currently at 0639 Monday morning the temperature is 66.1 degrees under mostly cloudy (broken altostratus and cirrostratus) skies, relative humidity at 91%, barometric pressure rising at 30.32 inches, and the dew point temperature at 64 degrees.
Good early morning from the walrus on this variably cloudy Tuesday.
