Partly sunny, very similar conditions to Saturday update for Sunday, September 8, 2019 from West Rockville Maryland

I really did have remarkably similar statistics today compared with yesterday, same high temperature, very close dew point and relative humidity values, and similar partly cloudy, dry conditions. I had plenty of sun with just fair-weather cumulus dotting the sky at times (see today’s featured image). High temps rose to the upper 70s by earlyafternoon after a pleasant early AM min around the 60 mark, two degrees warmer than the Saturday early AM min. Dew point temps ranged from the upper mid 50s in the early AM up to the low 60s by early afternoon and holding there the rest of the day.

The maximum temperature was 78.9 degrees at 1358.

The minimum temperature was 60.2 degrees at 0717.

The dew point temperatures ranged from a low of 57 degrees @ 0628 up to a high of 63 degrees @ 1426.

The relative humidity values ranged from a high of 91% @ 0751 down to a low of 53% @ 1347.

The barometric pressure ranged from a low of 29.83 inches @ 0000 up to a high of 30.12 inches @ 2354. Pressures continued to rise from yesterday so the values were higher on Sunday, but the time pattern was very similar, lowest at the very beginning of the day and highest at the end of the day, nearly 24 hours later.

There was no precipitation on Sunday so the monthly total remains at 0.39 inches. The year-to-date total is 38.05 inches.

My current online data (except for rainfall/snowfall so please use the cocorahs link shown below) is showing regularly on Weather Underground. My data is posted there every 5 minutes. My ID is KMDROCKV200 and my station is called Gardens of Traville. Data is online, available in real-time as it is being updated on a 5 minute interval. The web address for my data on weather underground is: https://www.wunderground.com/personal-weather-station/dashboard?ID=KMDROCKV200

I contribute my precipitation data daily to CoCoRaHS as Rockville 2.8 WNW, Station ID MD-MG-115 and can be found on the web at https://www.cocorahs.org

Please remember that my Weather Underground precipitation data reflects what is recorded automatically through the tipping bucket VP2 gauge, just as it does on WxLink 2.0. The tipping bucket has been producing erratic values on most days of late so should not be used except for general precipitation timing.

I actually use the data I post to CoCoRaHS from my 4 inch CoCoRaHS gauge I read manually as my official precipitation total each day.

Today is the opening day of the NFL season, and I caught the action for several teams all afternoon and evening. The home team Redskins had a good start against the Eagles, but faded in the second half and lost 32-27. The Baltimore Ravens got off to a much better start, whooping it up against the Dolphins down in Miami 59-10. My Giants lost to the Cowboys in Dallas 35-17 and the Patriots beat down the Steelers in the night game 33-3. I watched the Yankees beat the Red Sox 10-5 up in Boston. I managed to have a good bowl of cereal for my usual late breakfast, with banana and milk, and a pot of coffee to go along. Later in the evening I made some baked hoisin chicken and broccoli cheddar rice a roni with sliced mushrooms added in, and my usual spicy low sodium V8 juice. I caught up a bit with Robin and Gideon on a regular phone connection from her bluetooth auto connection, and spoke with Ray a few times throughout the day.

Wednesday and Thursday should be partly cloudy and heating up with highs in the low 90s and lows in the upper 60s to lower 70s.

Friday looks to cool back down into the mid 70s for highs and mid 60s for lows with mostly cloudy skies and good chances for showers at times.

Saturday looks to warm up with more sun than clouds, highs in the mid 80s and lows in the mid 60s.

On Midnight Sunday the temperature was 68.8 degrees, relative humidity 80%, pressure rising at 30.12 inches with the dew point temperature at 62 degrees under cloudy skies.

Currently at 0703 Monday morning the temperature is 68.8 degrees under cloudy (altostratus) skies, relative humidity at 83%, barometric pressure rising at 30.18 inches, and the dew point temperature at 64 degrees.

Good early morning from the walrus on this cloudy Monday.
