Mostly cloudy, mild, rainy AM, stormy late afternoon update for Thursday, June 13, 2019 from West Rockville Maryland
Thursday was mostly cloudy, rainy in the early AM hours from about 0100-0700, then dry but still cloudy the rest of the morning and most of the afternoon, then thunderstorms moved into the area around 1700-1800 just before my weekly trivia game. I got most of the day’s rain (0.85″ total) out of the morning activity. Temperatures rose from the low 60s in the early AM to the mid 70s in the mid-late afternoon hours, then fell back into the low 60s by midnight observation. Dew point temperatures started out in the lower 60s in the AM hours, peaking in the upper 60s mid-late afternoon just before and during the storm activity, then dropped through the 60s and 50s to 50° by midnight observation.
The maximum temperature was 75.2 degrees at 1635.
The minimum temperature was 61.2 degrees at 2352.
The dew point temperatures ranged from a high of 69 degrees @ 1516 down to a low of 50 degrees @ 2352.
The relative humidity values ranged from a high of 96% @ 0943 down to a low of 68% @ 2255.
The barometric pressure ranged from a high of 29.99 inches @ 0000 down to a low of 29.70 inches @ 1624.
There was 0.85 inches of precipitation on Thursday. There has been 1.66 inches of rain recorded so far in June. The year-to-date total is now 21.95 inches.
My current online data (except for rainfall/snowfall – use the cocorahs link shown below for that dataset) is showing regularly on Weather Underground. My data is posted there every 5 minutes. My ID is KMDROCKV200 and my station is called “Gardens of Traville.” Data is online, normally just about in real-time now as it is being updated on a 5 minute interval. The web address for my data on weather underground is:
https://www.wunderground.com/personal-weather-station/dashboard?ID=KMDROCKV200
I contribute my precipitation data daily to CoCoRaHS as Rockville 2.8 WNW, Station ID MD-MG-115 on https://www.cocorahs.org/
Please remember that my Weather Underground precipitation data reflects what is recorded automatically through the tipping bucket VP2 gauge, just as it does on WxLink 2.0. The tipping bucket has been producing erratic values every day of late so should not be used except for general precipitation timing.
I actually use the data I post to CoCoRaHS from my 4 inch CoCoRaHS gauge I read manually as my “official” precipitation total each day.
