Mostly cloudy, cooler, damp with light mid-day showers update for Sunday June 9, 2019 from West Rockville Maryland

Sunday was mostly cloudy and cooler, with showers in the area that finally fell (0.03″) on my station around mid-day but were heavier in other sections of the Metro DC area. The showers came in from a system out in the ocean to my SE, moving in from that direction, with a noticeable spin to its circulation more commonly seen during the colder months. Temperatures rose from the upper 60s in the early AM to the mid 70s (barely) in the mid-day hours prior to the rain, then fell into the mid 60s by late evening.  Dew point temperatures started out in the mid 50s and rose quickly in the late morning just ahead of the light showers into the mid 60s. Gradually the dew points fell off to the low 60s by late evening.

The maximum temperature was 73.7 degrees at 1113.

The minimum temperature was 64.0 degrees at 2250.

The dew point temperatures ranged from a low of 55 degrees @ 0000 up to a high of 66 degrees @ 1032.

The relative humidity values ranged from a low of 60% @ 0000 up to a high of 93% @ 1934.

The barometric pressure ranged from a high of 30.20 inches @ 0910 down to a low of 30.11 inches @ 2354.

There was 0.03 inches of precipitation on Sunday. There has been 0.64 inches of rain recorded so far in June. The year-to-date total is now 20.93 inches.

My current online data (except for rainfall/snowfall – use the cocorahs link shown below for that dataset) is showing regularly on Weather Underground. My data is posted there every 5 minutes. My ID is KMDROCKV200 and my station is called “Gardens of Traville.” Data is online, normally just about in real-time now as it is being updated on a 5 minute interval. The web address for my data on weather underground is:
https://www.wunderground.com/personal-weather-station/dashboard?ID=KMDROCKV200

I contribute my precipitation data daily to CoCoRaHS as Rockville 2.8 WNW, Station ID MD-MG-115 on https://www.cocorahs.org/

Please remember that my Weather Underground precipitation data reflects what is recorded automatically through the tipping bucket VP2 gauge, just as it does on WxLink 2.0. The tipping bucket has been producing erratic values every day of late so should not be used except for general precipitation timing.

I actually use the data I post to CoCoRaHS from my 4 inch CoCoRaHS gauge I read manually as my “official” precipitation total each day.
