Mostly sunny, pleasant update for Wednesday, May 22, 2019 from West Rockville Maryland

Wednesday was mostly sunny, pleasantly cool, especially in the early AM with low 50s mins and still dry. High temperatures reached the low 70s once again, but later in the evening the dew points and temperatures started to creep out ahead of big changes on Thursday.

The maximum temperature was 71.7° at 1539.

The minimum temperature was 51.9° at 0613.

The dew point temperatures ranged from a low of 42° @ 1244 up to a high of 52° @ 1957.

The relative humidity values ranged from a high of 81% @ 0637 down to a low of 40% @ 1244.

The barometric pressure ranged from a low of 30.13″ @ 0000 up to a high of 30.31″ @ 1058.

There was no precipitation falling on Wednesday. May has a total rainfall of 4.68″. The year-to-date total is 18.73″.

My current online data (except for rainfall/snowfall – use the cocorahs link shown below for that dataset) is showing regularly on Weather Underground. My data is posted there every 5 minutes. My ID is KMDROCKV200 and my station is called “Gardens of Traville.” Data is online, normally just about in real-time now as it is being updated on a 5 minute interval. The web address for my data on weather underground is:
https://www.wunderground.com/personal-weather-station/dashboard?ID=KMDROCKV200

I contribute my precipitation data daily to CoCoRaHS as Rockville 2.8 WNW, Station ID MD-MG-115 on https://www.cocorahs.org/

Please remember that my Weather Underground precipitation data reflects what is recorded automatically through the tipping bucket VP2 gauge, just as it does on WxLink 2.0. The tipping bucket has been producing erratic values every day of late so should not be used except for general precipitation timing.

I actually use the data I post to CoCoRaHS from my 4 inch CoCoRaHS gauge I read manually as my “official” precipitation total each day.

Friday should be partly cloudy and still warm, with highs in the low 80s and lows in the upper 50s.

Saturday should be partly cloudy with highs around 80° and lows in the mid 60s. .

Sunday should be summery hot, with highs around 90° and lows in the mid-upper 60s.

Right now Memorial Day Monday looks partly sunny and warm, with highs in the mid 80s and lows in the mid 60s.

Midnight Wednesday recorded a temperature of 63.4°, relative humidity 64%, pressure steady at 30.24″ and a dew point temperature of 51° under mostly clear skies.

Currently at 0643 the temperature is 59.9° under partly cloudy skies with plenty of broken stratocumulus and altostratus covering much of the sky, relative humidity at 76%, barometric pressure falling at 30.18″, and the dew point at 52°.

Good morning from the walrus on this still pleasant Thursday. For today’s featured image, I took a picture out at my rain gauge looking west just prior to sunset around 1900 showing quite a bit of high clouds foretelling our cloudier Thursday forthcoming.
