Very warm temperatures, humid, partly cloudy skies but late cooldown update for Monday, May 20, 2019 from West Rockville Maryland

Monday was another very warm day with high dew point temperatures, but with a late in the day frontal passage that helped cool down the evening into more seasonable values of air and dew point temperature. There was no real threatening storms occurring in our immediate area.  Temperatures rose from the muggy low 70s in the early AM to the upper 80s by mid-afternoon with late evening cooling and dew point temperature dropping into the mid 50s.

The maximum temperature was 87.5° at 1432.

The minimum temperature was 71.3° at 0700.

The dew point temperatures ranged from a high of 70° @ 1058 down to a low of 55° @ 2137.

The relative humidity values ranged from a high of 80% @ 0742 down to a low of 46% @ 1941.

The barometric pressure ranged from a high of 29.90″ @ 0711 down to a low of 29.77″ @ 1625.

There was no precipitation falling on Monday. May has a total rainfall of 4.68″. The year-to-date total is 18.73″.

My current online data (except for rainfall/snowfall – use the cocorahs link shown below for that dataset) is showing regularly on Weather Underground. My data is posted there every 5 minutes. My ID is KMDROCKV200 and my station is called “Gardens of Traville.” Data is online, normally just about in real-time now as it is being updated on a 5 minute interval. The web address for my data on weather underground is:
https://www.wunderground.com/personal-weather-station/dashboard?ID=KMDROCKV200

I contribute my precipitation data daily to CoCoRaHS as Rockville 2.8 WNW, Station ID MD-MG-115 on https://www.cocorahs.org/

Please remember that my Weather Underground precipitation data reflects what is recorded automatically through the tipping bucket VP2 gauge, just as it does on WxLink 2.0. The tipping bucket has been producing erratic values every day of late so should not be used except for general precipitation timing.

I actually use the data I post to CoCoRaHS from my 4 inch CoCoRaHS gauge I read manually as my “official” precipitation total each day.

Tuesday looks partly cloudy and cooler, with highs around 70° and lows in the low 50s.

Wednesday looks to be partly cloudy and a bit warmer, with highs in the mid 70s and lows in the upper 50s.

Thursday, Friday, and Saturday look to bring some heat back under partly cloudy, dry skies with highs in the mid 80s and lows in the low-mid 60s.

Midnight Monday recorded a temperature of 71.7°, relative humidity 56%, pressure rising at 29.89″ and a dew point temperature of 55° under clear skies.

Currently at 0538 the temperature is 60.8° under clear skies, relative humidity at 68%, barometric pressure rising
at 29.97″, and the dew point at 50°.

Good morning from the walrus on this cooler Tuesday.
