Warm temperatures, mostly cloudy skies update for Friday, May 17, 2019 from West Rockville Maryland

Friday warmed up some more despite mostly cloudy skies most of the day. High clouds “blowoff” from storms to my W and SW held forth but allowed sun to come through and heat us up. Temperatures rose from the mid 50s in the early AM to the around 80° by mid-afternoon

The maximum temperature was 80.3° at 1615.

The minimum temperature was 56.5° at 0530.

The dew point temperatures ranged from a low of 53° @ 0000 up to a high of 67° @ 1731.

The relative humidity values ranged from a high of 93% @ 0637 down to a low of 58% @ 1315.

The barometric pressure ranged from a high of 29.91″ @ 0001 down to a low of 29.79″ @ 1438.

There was no precipitation falling on Friday. May has a total rainfall of 4.68″. The year-to-date total is 18.73″.

My current online data (except for rainfall/snowfall – use the cocorahs link shown below for that dataset) is showing regularly on Weather Underground. My data is posted there every 5 minutes. My ID is KMDROCKV200 and my station is called “Gardens of Traville.” Data is online, normally just about in real-time now as it is being updated on a 5 minute interval. The web address for my data on weather underground is:
https://www.wunderground.com/personal-weather-station/dashboard?ID=KMDROCKV200

I contribute my precipitation data daily to CoCoRaHS as Rockville 2.8 WNW, Station ID MD-MG-115 on https://www.cocorahs.org/

Please remember that my Weather Underground precipitation data reflects what is recorded automatically through the tipping bucket VP2 gauge, just as it does on WxLink 2.0. The tipping bucket has been producing erratic values at times so should not be used except for general precipitation timing.

I actually use the data I post to CoCoRaHS from my 4 inch CoCoRaHS gauge I read manually as my “official” precipitation total each day.

Saturday should be partly cloudy and  warm with highs around 80° and lows in the low 60s and a slight chance of showers and thundershowers.

Sunday should be partly cloudy and quite warm, with highs in the mid-upper 80s and lows in the upper 60s with chances of showers and thundershowers at times.

Monday should have highs in the mid 80s with cloudy but dry skies, with lows reached late in the day in the mid 50s after the front clears out.

Tuesday looks cloudy and cooler, with highs in the low 70s and lows in the low 50s.

Wednesday looks to be mostly sunny and a bit warmer, with highs in the mid-upper 70s and lows in the upper 50s.

Midnight Friday recorded a temperature of 69.6°, relative humidity 80%, pressure rising at 29.90″ and a dew point temperature of 63° under mostly cloudy skies.

Currently at 0607 the temperature is 65.5° under cloudy skies (stratocumulus), relative humidity at 90%, barometric pressure rising at 29.93″, and the dew point at 63°. Clouds should break up in the next few hours as the sun comes up and starts drying them out.

Good morning from the walrus on this Saturday.
