Seasonable temperatures with partly cloudy skies update for Thursday May 9, 2019 at West Rockville Maryland

Thursday was partly cloudy with seasonable temperatures but increasing dew points as the day progressed.  Temperatures ranged from the upper 50s in the early AM to the mid 70s in the mid-late afternoon. A nice sunset amidst a partial altostratus overcast is today’s featured image, as I was walking over to my trivia game around 1900 early Thursday evening.

The maximum temperature was 75.2° at 1626.

The minimum temperature was 59.0° at 0511.

The dew point temperatures ranged from a low of 55° @ 0139 up to a high of 67° @ 1426.

The relative humidity values ranged from a high of 94% @ 0952 down to a low of 70% @ 1645.

The barometric pressure ranged from a high of 30.23″ @ 0111 down to a low of 30.07″ @ 1737.

There was no precipitation falling on Thursday. May still has a total rainfall of 1.88″ l. The year-to-date total is 15.93″.

My current online data (except for rainfall/snowfall – use the cocorahs link shown below for that dataset) is showing regularly on Weather Underground. My data is posted there every 5 minutes. My ID is KMDROCKV200 and my station is called “Gardens of Traville.” Data is online, normally just about in real-time now as it is being updated on a 5 minute interval. The web address for my data on weather underground is:
https://www.wunderground.com/personal-weather-station/dashboard?ID=KMDROCKV200

I contribute my precipitation data daily to CoCoRaHS as Rockville 2.8 WNW, Station ID MD-MG-115 on https://www.cocorahs.org/

Please remember that my Weather Underground precipitation data reflects what is recorded automatically through the tipping bucket VP2 gauge, just as it does on WxLink 2.0. The tipping bucket has been producing erratic values at times so should not be used except for general precipitation timing.

I actually use the data I post to CoCoRaHS from my 4 inch CoCoRaHS gauge I read manually as my “official” precipitation total each day.

Friday should be partly cloudy with highs around 80° and lows in the mid 50s with afternoon/evening showers and thundershowers.

Saturday should be cooler and cloudy with high temps holding in the 60s with mins in the 50s under rainy skies, particularly later in the day.

Cloudy skies and even cooler temperatures with highs in the 50s and lows in the upper 40s are expected for Mother’s Day Sunday with an all day soaking rain most likely.

Monday looks to continue this cloudy, wet, and cool pattern with high temps in the low 60s and lows in the upper 40s.

Tuesday should become partly cloudy but remaining cool, with high temps in the upper 50s and lows in the mid 40s.

Midnight Thursday found the temperature to be 66.0°, relative humidity 84%, pressure steady at 30.09″ and the dew point at 61.0° under cloudy skies.

Currently at 0653 the temperature is 65.7° under mostly cloudy skies, relative humidity at 86%, barometric pressure steady at 30.05″, and the dew point at 62°.

Good morning from the walrus on this increasingly damp early Friday. A lush, green, fully leafed-out scene late Thursday in the courtyard between my building B and the trivia building A next door is shown below.
