A warm, dry spell to start out the month of October from West Rockville MD on Monday, October 1, 2018

You can get the VP2 data on Weatherlink. I have migrated over to Weatherlink 2.0 so I have a new link for my data.
You can now access the data through:

I am posting daily to weather underground. My ID is KMDROCKV200 and my station is called “Gardens of Traville.”
Data is online, normally just about in real-time. The web address for my data on weather underground is:

I contribute daily to cocorahs as Rockville 2.8 WNW, Station ID MD-MG-115 on https://www.cocorahs.org/

Please remember that Weather Underground precipitation data reflects what is recorded automatically through the
tipping bucket VP2 gauge. I actually use the data I post to cocorahs from my 4″ cocorahs gauge I read manually as
my “official” precipitation total each day.

I have solved the slight descrepancy I reported on yesterday involving the total September monthly precipitation amount. The CoCoRaHS amount of 10.34″ is the correct amount. is 10.36″ with my year-to-date precipitation at 48.42″. September 2018 is now the rainiest month here at my current station since I started in January 2017.  My previous rainiest month was 8.65″ back in July 2017.

Overnight Sunday into Monday was clear and a bit milder but still pleasant. Monday was a sunny and warmer day, with highs up to 80° and lows in the low 60s. Dew points started the day around 60° but rose into the low 70s by mid-afternoon, bringing back the muggies a bit which will continue some this coming week. Overnight into Tuesday should see fair skies with lows in the mid 60s. Tuesday looks to be partly cloudy and warm, with highs in the low 80s and lows in the mid 60s and a 40 POP for PM thunderstorms. Wednesday will be mostly sunny with highs in the low 80s and lows in the low-mid 60s. Thursday should be partly sunny and warmer, with highs up in the mid 80s and lows in the mid 60s. Friday should be cloudy and cooler, with highs in the mid 70s and lows in the low-mid 60s. It looks mostly like a dry start to the month of October, and longer range predictions through the middle of the month (at least) are for this warmer, drier weather to persist. Our first freeze/frost looks to be several weeks away, as it has been trending later in the fall over the past few years.

Currently at 0301 the temperature is 66.5°, dew point temperature 65°,

relative humidity 94%, barometric pressure at 30.22″ and falling.

Currently I have partly cloudy skies and mild overnight temperatures in the mid 60s.

Good morning from the Walrus early on this Tuesday.

Kevin
