An inreasingly cloudy, warmer update for West Rockville Maryland on Saturday, January 27 2018

Saturday continued our brief warmup under sunny skies early but increasing clouds in the late AM and PM. We failed to register a freezing AM min, only the sixth time that has happened this month. The Saturday maximum temperature from the VP2 (59.6°) was recorded at 1452 while the minimum temperature (33.1°) was recorded at 0359. My dew point temperatures rose significantly from yesterday, ranging from a low of 25° early at 0606 up to 46° at 1424. Relative humidity values lowered a bit today (78% – 48%). Barometric values started falling today with our big HIGH pressure that was over us on Friday with an area of LOW pressure from the SW that will be giving us rain on Sunday, ranging from an AM high of 30.56″ at 0000 down to a low of 30.28″ at 2342.

Remember now you can get the VP2 data on Weatherlink. You can access the data through http://www.weatherlink.com/user/walrusman444.

I am posting daily to weather underground. My ID is KMDROCKV200 and my station is called “Gardens of Traville.” Data is online, normally just about in real-time. I contribute daily to cocorahs as Rockville 2.8 WNW, Station ID MD-MG-115. Please remember that Weather Underground does not report snow data, and reflects what is recorded automatically through the tipping bucket VP2 gauge.

We are cooling down a bit this morning into the upper 40s with clouds predominating and occasional light rain falling (0.04″ so far since midnight according to my tipping VP2 gauge). Cloudy with rain (80 POP) all day on Sunday, with highs around 50° and lows in the mid 30s. Monday should be partly cloudy and a tad cooler, with highs in the upper 40s and lows around 30°. Colder on Tuesday with cloudy skies and AM snow showers possible (50 POP) and blustery conditions with highs only up to the mid 30s and lows in the upper teens. Wednesday should feature a return to mostly sunny skies as we wrap up the month of January with highs in the upper 30s and lows around 30°. February will start out on Thursday in a milder note under partly cloudy skies, with highs in the low 50s and lows around freezing.
