A mostly sunny, dry, slightly cooler start to December for West Rockville Maryland for Friday, December 1 2017

Friday started out the month of December on a mostly sunny note, with just some early AM leftover cloudiness from Thursday’s late FROPA. Temperatures started out around 40° in the early AM, then rose into the low 50s in the afternoon, and then dropped to the daily min in the mid 30s at the very end of the day. Dew points were in the 40s early dropping to the low 30s by the end of the day. At 1048 we have partly cloudy skies with temperatures in the mid 40s. The Friday minimum temperature from the VP2 (36.5°) was recorded at 2359 while the maximum temperature (52.0°) was recorded at 1434. Dew point temps ranged from 46° down to 32°. Relative humidity values were about the same as yesterday (90% – 52%). Barometric values were also about the same as yesterday, ranging from a low of 30.06″ at 0000 up to 30.32″ at 2354.

Remember now you can get the VP2 data on Weatherlink. You can access the data through http://www.weatherlink.com/user/walrusman444.

I am also now on weather underground. My ID is KMDROCKV200 and my station is called “Gardens of Traville.” Data is online, normally just about in real-time. I contribute daily to cocorahs as Rockville 2.8 WNW, Station ID MD-MG-115.

I communicated with Ray Muller a few times during the evening discussing internet discussion Ray found about the Weather Channel and Weather Nation, and some employee unrest at both of those companies over on-air policies and forecasts to increase their broadcast ratings.

We have partly cloudy skies (cirroform clouds mostly) this morning with temps in the mid 40s. A bit cloudier with high temps around 50° and lows in the mid 30s on Saturday, but still dry with no chance for rain. Partly sunny skies on Sunday, highs in the mid 50s and lows once again around the freezing mark. Monday should have scattered to partly cloudy skies with highs in the mid 50s and lows warming up to the lower 40s. Tuesday looks to have cloudy skies with a 90 POP for PM rain, with highs in the upper 50s and lows in the mid 40s. Wednesday clear out by the afternoon and cooler, with highs in the mid 40s and lows in the mid 20s. This should be the beginning of a colder pattern thereafter heading through the rest of the week and into the weekend. Further details on this change, including increasing chances for snow, will be unfolding over the next several days.

On the Channel 4 weather website at 1048 their radar is showing some light scattered showers over Eastern NC and offshore of the SC coast, plus some rain showers over parts of Northern Lower Michigan, near Lake Huron and the straits of Mackinac.
