A sunny, not as cold, dry update for West Rockville Maryland for Sunday November 12 2017
Sunday was still relatively cold but moderated from yesterday’s colder day with partly cloudy skies. Dew points rose some from yesterday, from the low 20s up to the lower-mid 30s. At 0751 we have a high cloud partial overcast, light winds, and moderating cold after a period of light rain (0.07″ since midnight) for a few hours after midnight, from about 0115 to 0430. Temperatures are now in the upper 30s with dew points up into the upper-mid 30s. The Sunday minimum temperature from the VP2 (28.7°) was recorded at 0141 while the maximum temperature (44.6°) was recorded at 1551. Dew point temps ranged from 21° up to 33°. Relative humidity values rose a bit today (82% – 52%). Barometric values dropped from those lofty values on Saturday as the strong HIGH pressure started moving easterly off the immediate area, ranging from a high of 30.52″ at 0008 lowering to 30.37″ by the end of the day at 2354.
Remember now you can get the VP2 data on Weatherlink. You can access the data through http://www.weatherlink.com/user/walrusman444. I am also now on weather underground. My ID is KMDROCKV200 and my station is called “Gardens of Traville.” Data is online, normally just about in real-time.
I got up in the late afternoon, watching some NFL action, and talking with Marty about the party and our pending light precipitation overnight. He had some mixed precipitation at his more northerly location early this morning around 0230. I didn’t have any, just light unfrozen rain as best I could tell. I worked on compiling my October weather data into my master excel spreadsheet form, a multi-step process based on my hand-written VP2 data and my daily wx reports like this one.
We have had a partial high cloud overcast this morning but it is starting to clear out now with temps in the upper-mid 30s. Monday should see partly cloudy skies and continued slightly moderating temps, rising up to around 50° and lows in the mid 30s. Tuesday and Wednesday should continue this sky condition and temperature pattern, with high temps hovering around the 50° mark with lows around freezing on Tuesday and upper 30s on Wednesday. Thursday should moderate further under continued party cloudy skies with highs in the mid 50s and lows around 30°. Turning a bit cooler on Friday with highs in the upper 40s and lows in the upper 30s under partly cloudy skies.
On the Channel 4 weather website at 0751 radar shows our earlier morning rain has moved off to the south and east over more coastal areas of MD, VA, DE, and NJ, with light scattered showers of rain and snow over parts of central PA and WV, and light snow over upstate NY at this time.
As of 0751, the data from the VP2 (coming from the ground radiation shield about 4 feet off the ground just under and out from the balcony) and the Lakewood WXBug station are as follows :
