A cloudy, milder, AM wet morning then partial clearing PM update for West Rockville Maryland for Monday November 6 2017
Monday warmed up in the afternoon after another cool, cloudy and still wet (0.14″) morning, falling as occasional light rain and drizzle during the AM hours. The sun came out in the PM with partly cloudy skies. Temperatures were cool in the mid-upper 50s in the AM, then upper 60s for the highs for the day and low 50s for the low at the very end of the day, after the cold front had passed and colder air started to filter in. Cloudy skies have continued overnight but with no additional rain with temperatures continuing to drop, now in the low 40s. Dew points dropped from the low 60s early, through the 50s, till upper 40s took hold late. At 0824 we have cloudy skies. Temperatures are in the lower 40s with dew points in the upper 30s. The Monday minimum temperature from the VP2 (52.6°) was recorded at 2359 while the maximum temperature (68.5°) was recorded at 1338. Dew point temps ranged from 63° down to 47°. Relative humidity values were still high today but dropped some from yesterday’s lofty values (98% – 77%). Barometric values dropped today, ranging from a high of 30.15″ at 2343 down to 29.93″ at 1352.
Remember now you can get the VP2 data on Weatherlink. You can access the data through http://www.weatherlink.com/user/walrusman444. I also am now on weather underground. My ID is KMDROCKV200 and my station is called “Gardens of Traville.” Data is online, normally just about in real-time.
I got up in the later afternoon after another long phone call with Stan R. (he is not leaving the internet now after further last minute negotiations with his provider, juno) and then a shorter conversation with Ray fixing a few days of his cocorahs records, and about the upcoming rain/subsequent cold snap. I also talked with Marty, briefly about his trip to MA for the Southern New England Weather Conference, weather instrumentation and Stan’s problems. The rest of my family had a great day out in Las Vegas, spoiling my grandson rotten! <g>
Tuesday will be cool and wet, highs only in the upper-mid 40s and a 90 POP for rain most all day. Wednesday will warm up a bit, into the low 50s, under partly cloudy skies and only a 20 POP for rain. Lows both nights in the mid 30s. On Thursday warming a tad into the mid 50s for highs and lows in the mid 30s under some clouds scattered about. Friday we should see full sun but with the coldest temperatures of the season, highs only in the low 40s and our first freeze of the season with lows in the low-mid 20s.
On the Channel 4 weather website at 0824 their radar shows a general mass of rain heading eastward towards my area, out in the central Appalachian mountains and eastern Midwest over much of Ohio and WV and parts of western MD, KY, SW VA and TN. It should arrive by late morning.
