A mostly sunny, pleasant, dry weather update for West Rockville Maryland for Wednesday October 4 2017
Wednesday was yet another beautiful early fall day as we proceed further into the month of October. It was mostly sunny with a bit warmer afternoon air and very similar dew point temperatures to yesterday after another pleasantly cool early AM. Temperatures rose from an early AM 50° to the low 70s in the mid-afternoon. Dew points remained relatively low all day, ranging from the upper 40s up to the low 60s. Now at 0723 we have clear skies and temperatures in the lower-mid 50s with dew points in the low 50s. The Wednesday minimum temperature from the VP2 in the shelter on the ground below my balcony (50.1°) was recorded at 0650 while the maximum temperature (72.9°) was recorded at 1453. Dew point temps ranged from 49° up to 61°. Relative humidity values were a bit higher than yesterday (98%-60%). Barometric values started to fall off today, ranging from 30.54″ at 0002 down to 30.26″ at 2342.
Remember now you can get the ground-based VP2 data on Weatherlink. You can access the data through http://www.weatherlink.com/user/walrusman444. I am also now on weather underground. My ID is KMDROCKV200 and my station is called “Gardens of Traville.” Data is online, normally just about in real-time.
I was up in the mid-afternoon to talk with Ray and Tracy briefly on her way to work before getting out of bed. I took a shower then had a late breakfast of cereal, banana and coffee. I watched parts of the National League Wild Card one game playoff between the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Colorado Rockies, won by Arizona 11-7. Now Arizona will play in the next round, a best of 5 games, with the Los Angeles Dodgers starting on Friday evening in LA. I also spoke with Marty, who has returned to Maryland from his trip out to Montana for the past several days, catching up on news and getting a brief trip highlights report. Dinner was heated up leftover bratwurst and barbecue beans, along with some macaroni salad from earlier in the week. All was really yummy as usual! I also caught up some on my email and facebook messaging later during the evening and a bit of face-time video from Robin’s car, plus a video Robin shot of Gideon in the bathtub. I had some prune juice and spicy low-sodium V8 juice right around dinner time and plenty of water and vitamins throughout the evening.
We now have clear skies with temperatures in the lower mid- 50s at 0723 Thursday. Thursday and Friday may find a few clouds around but generally sunny, warm skies with highs in the low 80s, lows around 60°. Saturday will be mostly sunny, warm and dry, highs in the mid 80s and lows in the upper-mid 60s. Further development news for Sunday- a 90 POP for rain with highs in the upper 70s and lows in the upper 60s. Rain also looks to continue into the early part of next week with similar temps and full cloud cover as what should be the remains of Tropical Storm Nate makes its way into our area on Monday night into Tuesday. We have not had any measurable rain here since September 14!
On Weatherbug at 0723 the radar is showing showers out in parts of the Midwest stretching from northern PA out to Illinois, centered mostly in Indiana. That action should stay north of our area. There are numerous tropical showers going on over much of Florida right now, and that area will get organized and move north to give us that rain on Sundayt then Nate’s remains should douse our area later Monday into parts of Tuesday.
