A partly cloudy, comfortable, dry update for West Rockville Maryland for Friday September 8 2017
Friday was a partly to mostly sunny, pleasant, and dry day. We had some nice cumulus buildups during the afternoon at times (see featured image). High temperatures reached into the low 70s with lows in the pleasant low 50s. Dew points were once again in the 50s all day. Now at 0520 we have fair skies with temperatures in the comfortable mid 50s with dew points in the low 50s. The Thursday minimum temperature from the VP2 in the shelter on the ground below my balcony (52.0°) was recorded at 0512 (coolest min reading of the season so far) while the maximum temperature (72.5°) was recorded at 1526. Dew point temps were essentially the same as yesterday, ranging from 58° down to 50°. Relative humidity values were roughly the same as yesterday (94% – 50%). Barometric values rose quite a bit from yesterday’s values, ranging from 30.09″ at 0000 up to 30.23″ at 2345.

I rose in the mid-afternoon for the 1500 rummikub game, where we had 2 full table/8 player games going. After the rummikub game I had a late brunch of cereal and coffee, along with 2 small hash brown patties stuffed with sausage, cheese and eggs that were delicious. I received a Safeway Grocery delivery about 1845, and got everything organized and put away by 1930. I am now marinating a skirt steak for tomorrow’s dinner off of the foreman grill. I did some email and facebook activity and talked briefly with Robin and watched Gideon in the bathtub on Face Time. Later on I made a brief supper of a grilled turkey pastrami and hot pepper cheese sandwich, garnished with mustard and pickles that was simply delish along with sides of kimchee, orzo and macaroni salads. Later on had some new flavored Triscuits and finished off these wonderful chocolate brownies left over from the refreshments served by questioneer Bob at our trivia game last night. I had some prune and spicy low-sodium V8 juices right around dinner time, and plenty of water and vitamins throughout the evening.
We now have fair skies with temperatures in the mid 50s at 0520 Saturday. Saturday through Monday should be mostly sunny with only a few scattered clouds at times, highs in the low 70s and lows in the low 50s through Sunday and highs in the mid 70s and lows in the mid 50s on Monday. The remnant rains of Irma may be coming in on Tuesday, with temps in the 60s under cloudy, rainy (70 POP) skies. Right now it looks like Irma will strike southern FL as a Cat 4 hurricane, and then run right up the spine of the state and move northward into Georgia and into the Tennessee valley thereafter. So Irma’s affects on our immediate area should be minor and non-damaging at best. Still though stay tuned for updates.
On Weatherbug at 0520 the radar is clear north of Florida at this time.
