A cloudy, wet and cool weather update for West Rockville Maryland for Monday August 7 2017

Monday was a cloudy, wet, and cool day, particularly in the AM hours, with temps mostly in the upper 60s to low 70s.  Now at 0522 we have cloudy skies and light rain falling with temps in the upper-mid 60s with dew point temperatures running about the same. The Monday minimum temperature from the VP2 in the shelter on the ground nearby (66.7°) was recorded at 0403 while the maximum temperature (72.9°) was recorded at 1900. Dew point temps stayed mostly in the 60s all day, ranging from 64° up to 70°. Relative humidity values rose today with the rain (97% – 77%).  Barometric values lowered today, ranging from 29.89″ at 1524 to 30.11″ at 0036.
Remember now you can get the new ground-based VP2 data on Weatherlink.  You can access the data through http://www.weatherlink.com/user/walrusman444 I got up in the late morning, helping Robin and Gideon get ready for their return trip to Las Vegas in the evening. It was a bittersweet day, we sure had a great time over the long weekend.  We had lunch at Robin’s last favorite to visit, at Red Hot and Blue down Shady Grove Road a few miles. Mike joined us and gave me a ride back to my apartment so Robin could head on to the airport with a bit less driving. Food and entertainment was great for lunch, our old favorites like onion ring loaf, chili chicken nachos, pulled pork barbecue with their great potato salad, and pecan pie a la mode for dessert. We said our tearful goodbyes, and got a few last hugs in with Gideon and Robin. Once I got back to my apartment I kind of crashed, and relaxed most of the rest of the day, starting slowly on getting caught up. Late in the evening I had some corn and chicken chowder, home made by Robin’s friend Lauren that she gave us on Saturday, and a bit of macaroni salad, with a few cashews even later on. I also had my usual water intake and vitamins and medicines that I take every day.

We now have cloudy, wet skies as light rain has been falling the past hour or so, with temperatures now dropping into the mid 60s and dew points also in the mid 60s around 0522. Partly to mostly sunny conditions and comfortable temps in the upper 70s to low 80s for highs and 60°-65° for lows Tuesday through Friday.

On Channel 4 radar at 0522 just light showers scattered about our immediate area, and gradually moving out, heading south and east. The heavier rain is found now to the south in southern MD and SE VA at this time.
