A sunny, milder, dry update for West Rockville Maryland for Thursday November 2 2017

Thursday was a mostly sunny day with no rain. Temperatures were milder in the lower 70s for highs and upper-mid 40s for minimum values. Clear skies have continued overnight with continued mild temperatures for early November. Dew points rose a bit today, rising into the low 60s later in the day. At 1003 we have sunny skies and dry with quite a bit of high clouds such as cirrus and altocumulus scattered about. Temperatures are in the mid 50s with dew points also in the mid 50s. The Thursday minimum temperature from the VP2 (47.4°) was recorded at 0542 while the maximum temperature (70.8°) was recorded at 1447. Dew point temps ranged from 46° up to 61°. Relative humidity values rose a bit today (96% – 67%). Barometric values lowered a bit today, ranging from a high of 30.28″ at 0934 down to a low of 30.17″ at 2349.

Remember now you can get the VP2 data on Weatherlink. You can access the data through http://www.weatherlink.com/user/walrusman444. I am also now on weather underground. My ID is KMDROCKV200 and my station is called “Gardens of Traville.” Data is online, normally just about in real-time.

Thursday was mostly sunny and mild. It is sunny out there right now on this bright Friday morning but with some increasing high clouds noted (see my updated feature image just taken a few minutes ago). I talked with Marty and Bob L earlier this morning about some important weather data issues dealing with the official reporting of hail.  The issue has been resolved. There will be partly cloudy skies Friday afternoon and mild with temperatures rising into the mid 70s with a 30 POP for PM showers, lows in the low 40s. Saturday looks to be partly cloudy and cooler, with highs in the upper-mid 50s, lows around 50° and a 40 POP for showers. Sunday looks cloudy and a bit warmer with highs in the upper 60s and lows in the mid 50s. Monday looks a bit warmer with highs in the low 70s and a 90 POP for showers and thundershowers. Tuesday should cool back down into the 50s with lesser chances of rain with lows down in the upper30s. Still no real cold air intrusions on the immediate horizon as it looks now.

On the Channel 4 weather website at 1003 the radar shows scattered rain showers building over parts of western PA and much of WV, heading east towards our area for this afternoon’s action.

As of 1003 EDT, the data from the VP2 (coming from the ground radiation shield about 4 feet off the ground just under and out from the balcony) and the Lakewood WXBug station are as follows :
