A mostly sunny, pleasant, dry weather update for West Rockville Maryland for Sunday October 1 2017

Sunday was yet another beautiful early fall day to start out the month of October. It was mostly sunny with a bit cooler air and lower dew point temperatures. Temperatures rose from the early AM mid 40s into the mid 60s by the afternoon. Dew points remained low all day, ranging from the low 50s to the low 40s. Now at 0540 we have fair skies and temperatures in the mid 40s with dew points also in the mid 40s. The Sunday minimum temperature from the VP2 in the shelter on the ground below my balcony (46.5°) was recorded at 0647 while the maximum temperature (64.1°) was recorded at 1648. Dew point temps ranged from 51° down to 42°. Relative humidity values were a bit higher today (90% – 56%). Barometric values rose even more today, ranging from 30.42″ at 1010 down to 30.30″ at 1639.

Remember now you can get the ground-based VP2 data on Weatherlink. You can access the data through http://www.weatherlink.com/user/walrusman444. I am also now on weather underground. My ID is KMDROCKV200 and my station is called “Gardens of Traville.” Data is online, normally just about in real-time.

I believe my daughter Robin was not working at PF Changs on the Las Vegas Strip on Sunday evening, so she has marked herself safe at her new home about 10 miles NW of downtown Las Vegas with reference to the deadly shooting that took place at the Mandalay Bay Casino in downtown Las Vegas late Sunday night in a horrific display of incredible violence from the 32nd floor of the Casino (20 dead, 100 injured at this point).

We now have clear skies with temperatures in the comfortable mid 40s at 0540 Monday. The coming week looks to be a sunny, dry one (through Thursday at least) with gradually warming temps as we progress through our first week of October. Monday and Tuesday will start warming up a bit, with highs in the mid 70s and lows around 50° under sunny skies. Dry and warmer on Wednesday with highs around 80° and lows in the mid 50s. Thursday may find a few clouds around with highs in the mid 80s, lows in the upper 50s. Friday looks to have similar sky conditions with highs around 80°. Unfortunately there continues to be no sign of any rain in the foreseeable future.

On Weatherbug at 0540 the radar is clear in the eastern US north of Florida at this time. Closest precipitation is out in parts of Iowa, Wisconsin and Minnesota.
