A partly to mostly sunny, warm, dry weather update for West Rockville Maryland for Wednesday September 27 2017

Wednesday was sunny to partly sunny at times, still quite warm and dry but with cooler air on the way. Temperatures rose into the mid 80s with lows in the upper 60s. Dew points rose into the low 70s. Now at 0830 we have sunny skies and temperatures still around 70° and the dew points in the mid 60s. The Tuesday minimum temperature from the VP2 in the shelter on the ground below my balcony (68.8°) was recorded at 0621 while the maximum temperature (86.5°) was recorded at 1616. Dew point temps ranged from 66° up to 73°. Relative humidity values were a bit lower today (91% – 54%). Barometric values were lower than yesterday, ranging from 29.92″ at 0000 down to 29.77″ at 2347.

Remember now you can get the ground-based VP2 data on Weatherlink. You can access the data through http://www.weatherlink.com/user/walrusman444 On Tuesday I progressed to another source of my real-time data – weather underground. My ID is KMDROCKV200 and my station is called “Gardens of Traville.” Data came online about noontime on Tuesday.

We now have mostly clear skies with a few scattered high clouds with temperatures around 70° at 0830 Thursday. We have a transition day on Thursday with mostly sunny skies, breezy at times, and dropping temps and dew points into the mid 70s and 50s dew points and lows into the more comfortable low 50s. Friday should continue to cool, with highs in the low 70s and lows in the low 50s. Cooler air will continue to work its way into the weekend as we transition from September into October with highs in the mid 60s and lows in the mid 40s on Saturday and about 70° and 50° on Sunday. I had been hopeful for some rain early next week, but not so sure about that any more. We really need the rain, it has really gotten dry around here.

On Weatherbug at 0830 the radar is clear in the 4 state region as our cold front is coming through quite dry. Showers associated with the front and possibly remaining moisture from the old storm Jose can be found off the Cape Cod coast of southern New England out in the Atlantic Ocean.

As of 0830 EDT, the data from the VP2 (coming from the ground radiation shield about 4 feet off the ground just under and out from the balcony), the Lakewood WXBug station and the USG VP2 station across the street are as follows :
