A mostly cloudy, very warm, humid, and slightly wet weather update for West Rockville Maryland for Monday July 24 2017

Monday started out cloudy before sunrise with a bit of leftover light rain, then mostly cloudy, very warm  and quite humid, but cleared up in the evening as cooler, drier air started to move in. Temperatures barely got over the 90° mark once again. Today’s rain only totalled 0.02″ of rain for the day.  Now at 0540 we have partly cloudy skies with dropping dew points and air temps (68° air, 60° dew point). The minimum temperature from the VP2 in the shelter on the ground nearby (71.8°) was recorded at 0240 while the maximum temperature (89.6°) was recorded at 1626. Dew point temperatures were a bit lower than yesterday, ranging from 74° to 69°, with that trend continuing over the next few days thankfully. Relative humidity values started to drop after a real muggy start (98% – 54%).  Barometric values also started to rise late, ranging from 29.90″ at 2351 to 29.71″ at 0411.

Remember now you can get the new ground-based VP2 data on Weatherlink.  You can access the data through http://www.weatherlink.com/user/walrusman444

I woke up in the late morning to greet my apartment cleaning engineer, and started to work on finishing up my June climate stats and summary, which I did and desseminated it on email to many, and posted it to Weatherquack and NJWO.  I also listened to the Weather Buff show from Buffalo on the internet from 1200-1300. I had a late breakfast of cereal, banana and a large cup of coffee. I started in warming up yesterday’s chicken and dumplings dinner in the crockpot.  I also caught up a bit on email and FACEBOOK, then I talked with Robin Marty and Robin in the late afternoon/early evening.  I had some cashews and a few triscuits after dinner. I also had some prune and spicy low sodium V8 before and after my leftovers. Later I continued working on “Weatherquack” items, like uploading my June climate summary. I hope to see many of you on Weatherquack http://www.weatherquack.com real soon – it is completely free and easy to use once you complete your registration and a short ramping up period. I also drank some water from my ginormous water bottle throughout the evening and early morning hours.

We now have partly cloudy, dry and comfortable conditions with temperatures in the upper 60s at 0540. Cooler temperatures will be around on Tuesday and Wednesday with highs around 80° and lows in the 60°-65° range. We should have mostly sunny skies with a few scattered clouds at times on both days. Thursday warms up towards the upper 80s with a 20 POP for showers/storms to return. Lows will also warm up to around 70°. Friday looks to be cloudy and rainy (90 POP) with highs in the low 80s and lows in the low 60s. It looks to be nice over the weekend at first glance.

On Channel 4 radar at 0550, rain has cleared out of the immediate region with just a few light scattered showers well to our north over parts of northern NY and northern New England, and also offshore of the Carolina beaches.

As of 0550 EDT, the data from the VP2 is now coming from the ground radiation shield about 4 feet off the ground just under and out from the balcony and the Taylor has been replaced with the Radio Shack thermometer for the time being (on the balcony – max temps especially read too high).  The data from the Lakewood Country Club WXBug station and the USG VP2 station across the street are still operating and reporting, and are as follows :
